Escaped Annapolis Prisoner Apprehended. Police in Annapolis said they have captured a prisoner who escaped from a court building on Thursday.The Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office said Bonrick Barksdale, 25, of Annapolis, escaped from a drop-off area of the Annapolis District Courthouse in the 200 block of Rowe Boulevard around noon Thursday.Officials said they went to Barksdale’s home after he escaped but couldn’t find him. Helicopters also searched for him Thursday afternoon.Barksdale was eventually apprehended near the intersection of Dewey and Sumner drives in the Admiral Heights community shortly before midnight.

Weary Residents Want Their Power Restored. Where’s our power?That’s the question being asked by the remaining Baltimore Gas & Electric customers who — at least Friday morning — still did not have service in the wake of Hurricane Irene.BGE said it had restored power to more than 702,000 people as of 6:30 a.m. Friday. The majority of the remaining 36,000 outages caused by Irene were in Anne Arundel and Baltimore counties.

Man Sought In Annapolis Money Bag Theft. Police in Annapolis are looking for help in finding the person who took money from a bank deposit bag in a liquor store.The incident happened Aug. 22 at a store in the 1900 block of Forest Drive.Police said the man walked into the store’s employee office and took the money bag.

Drivers Sit, Fume During Grand Prix Closures. The Thursday commute became an absolute nightmare for many motorists heading in and out of downtown — and it’s already begun to be a problem Friday.A number of road closures are in place as preparations continue for this weekend’s Baltimore Grand Prix. The race is set for Sunday afternoon, with a series of events to precede it.
