Pig Captured In Linthicum

So that is what a "poke" looks like!

While this does have some serious implications, and it did end up as good as it possibly could; but, this whole elusive pair of pigs was humorous.  The Anne Arundel County Police issued the following report:

Since September 2, 2011, the Anne Arundel County Animal Control has been in pursuit of two domestic pot belly pigs running at large in the Linthicum area. The first pig was captured on the evening of Thursday, September 22, 2011, through the coordinated use of nets by Anne Arundel County Animal Control and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

On September 28, 2011, six days after the first pig’s capture, the second pig was taken into custody by Animal Control in the 600 block of Hammonds Ferry Road. The successful capture of the pig was the result of the coordination of Animal Control Officer Glenn Johnson and Jim Bennett from DNR. In this particular capture, tranquilizers were used for the pig’s safe capture as there were growing concerns for the pig’s safety based on his more recent activities. Animal Control appreciates DNR’s assistance in the safe capture of both pigs.

The pigs will be reunited at Anne Arundel County Animal Control. After the required five day holding period for “stray” animals, the pigs will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. At this time, Animal Control is working with the Pig Placement Network to screen applicants for the pigs, who have been named Miss Piggy and Kermit. Based on the original pictures, both pigs appeared to have lost a significant amount of weight while at large. The staff at Animal Control are delighted both pigs will now receive the proper care they require.

And the report was followed by another email:

Good Afternoon,
Please contact Animal Control at 410-222-8900 to arrange any interviews. Thanks.
So, the question we have, are the pigs talking and discussing their life on the lam; or have their attorneys advised them to keep mum?
