Leopold Appoints Jordan To Head Department Of Aging

| September 14, 2011, 04:49 PM | 0 Comments

County Executive John R. Leopold today announced the appointment of Pam Jordan as the new Director of the Department of Aging and Disabilities upon the retirement of Dr. Carol Baker.

“Pam Jordan is the perfect person to take over the department that serves our seniors and people with disabilities because of her passion for helping people and her support of my priority interest in assisting individuals with disabilities,” County Executive Leopold said. “I wish Dr. Baker the best in her retirement. It was very important to keep the department moving forward without skipping a beat, and Ms. Jordan is uniquely qualified to accomplish that goal.”

Jordan has over 30 years of experience in advisory and public policy positions in several Anne Arundel County Departments, including the County Executive’s Office. A media communications professional with expertise in daily and emergency management communications, Pam began her career with Anne Arundel County Government in 1979 as a high school student at South River High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s of science degree in marketing from the University of Maryland while employed by the County.

Jordan recently served as the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator and disability policy advisor to the County Executive.
Jordan and her daughter Caroline, a student at Anne Arundel Community College, live in Glen Burnie and enjoy raising their rescue pets.

The appointment is effective October 1.
