A+ School Rewards Returns To Giant Food

A new school year marks the return of Giant Food of Landover, Md.’s successful A+ School Rewards program. A+ School Rewards provides a simple way for local schools to earn funds every time customers make a purchase using their Giant card in their neighborhood Giant Food. Since 1989, A+ School Rewardshas raised more than $84 million to help both public and private schools in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Delaware fulfill their academic and enrichment needs.

To participate in A+ School Rewards during the 2011-2012 school year, Giant customers are encouraged to sign up beginning September 9. Customers may designate up to two local schools to benefit from A+ School Rewards either in-store or online at www.GiantFood.com/aplus.

Beginning October 7, Giant shoppers can accrue A+ School Rewards every time they use their Giant card through March 29, 2012. In the past, funds raised by A+ School Rewards have helped purchase new computers, additional classroom technology, musical instruments, and athletic uniforms as well as funded school aids, field trips, sports, and after-school programs.

New this year, customers can earn even more rewards by purchasing bonus products. Shoppers can earn double points with the purchase of specially marked items throughout the store. Additionally, customers can earn triple points by purchasing products that are labeled with Giant’s exclusive Healthy Ideas icon. Giant’s Healthy Ideas blue and green product labeling system helps customers identify healthy options as they shop the aisles.
