750 Enjoy The 1st Harvest Beer Festival

About 750 people attended the 1st Harvest Beer Festival this past weekend!  The event was held at Homestead Gardens and was a benefit to the Scenic Rivers Land Trust.

Fifteen breweries were represented and were offering samples of 44 distinct beers ranging from the locally names Silopanna Wit beer from the Fordham Brewing Company to some old favorites like Becks and Lowenbrau. The Raspberry Wheat from Shock Top Brewing Company seemed to be a crowd favorite as well.

But it was not all about drinking. Your admission got you unlimited samples and an etched mug commemorating the event. For $3 you could purchase a ticket from the Scenic Rivers Land Trust to fill up your mug!  Food was plentiful from Homestead Gardens’ Cafe and a nearby Raw Bar.

The Rob Levit Trio entertained the crowd as their smooth jazz wafted through the tented tasting stations.

For those more into the science of brewing (and it is a science) there were 6 Brewer Sessions each lasting about 30 minutes. Master brewers discussed various aspects of the beer business.

Hopefully this event will be back next year so keep an eye open and be ready to mark your calendars.
