Ticket Sales For ‘Love Letters’ Underway

Ticket sales are under way for performances of the “Love Letters,” a Pulitzer Prize nominated play cast with Anne Arundel Community College administrators as a scholarship fundraiser tied to the college’s 50thAnniversary celebration.

The play by A.R. Gurney will showcase a different set of actors for the Sept. 9, 10 and 11 performances in the newly dedicated Robert E. Kauffman Theater on the Arnold campus. The curtain rises at 8 p.m. for the Friday and Saturday shows and 2 p.m. for the Sunday matinee.

“Love Letters” tells the story of two childhood friends who keep in touch in adulthood through letters that share their hopes and ambitions, dreams and disappointments, victories and defeats. On Sept. 9, the show stars AACC President Martha A. Smith, Ph.D. with Charles “Jolly” Davis, Ph.D., professor of mathematics. The Sept. 10 show features Vivian Gist Spencer, Ph.D., professor of English with Shad Ewart, assistant professor of business management. Sharing the stage on Sept. 11 is Douglas Brandt Byerly, chair of performing arts, and Jennifer Lara, professor of education.

The show is directed by AACC’s Lars Tatom, assistant professor of performing arts.
