Man Critically Injured In Crofton Shooting. Anne Arundel County police are investigating an early-morning shooting that sent a 22-year-old man to Shock Trauma.The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of Judicial Way and Lower Court in Crofton.Witnesses told police that they heard gunshots and saw someone helped into a vehicle that fled the scene.Police said the victim was found about 2:40 a.m. in the area of Baltimore Washington Medical Center. After being treated at the facility, the victim was taken to Shock Trauma and was listed in critical but stable condition.

Man Pulled From Anne Arundel Creek Dies At Hospital. Anne Arundel County police said Monday that a man who was pulled unresponsive from a creek on Sunday later died at a hospital.Paramedics were called to a reported drowning at a waterfront home in the 3900 block of Whitemarsh Lane in Edgewater just after 2 p.m. Sunday.Police said Judson Bell, 57, was out of the water when medical crews arrived. Investigators said Bell had jumped into the water to get a piece of trash that had blown into Whitemarsh Creek. On his way back, he went under.

Maryland Woman Missing In Aruba. Authorities are investigating the disappearance of a Maryland woman who was visiting Aruba.Robyn Gardner, 35, was vacationing with 50-year-old Gary Giordano, an acquaintance from her hometown of Frederick, when she disappeared.Giordano said the two were snorkeling on Aug. 2, and Gardner never made it back to shore.Giordano has been detained by police for questioning.

Market Meltdown Has Maryland Leaders On High Alert. State leaders said the money meltdown on the federal level has them on high alert Monday.Officials said the question on all of their minds now is, “Could Maryland also lose its coveted AAA bond rating?”The bond rating is a credit rating that affects borrowing ability and interest rates.Maryland officials said the second big Wall Street plunge in less than a week and the loss of the federal government’s AAA bond rating from Standard and Poor’s has them all concerned.
