Glen Burnie Man Killed In Tree Trimming Accident.  A tree trimmer died Thursday morning in an accident in Harford County.According to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office and the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association, the man became trapped shortly after 10:30 a.m. about 30 feet above the ground in the 1700 block of Shanwick Court in Forest Hill.The sheriff’s office said the 24-year-old tree trimmer, who works for the Joppa-based company ClearTree, was cutting a branch that snapped and pinned the man, whose name was not immediately released.

Annapolis Teen Pleads Guilty In Child’s Death. Officials say an Annapolis teenager charged as an adult in the death of a 2-year-old girl last year has pleaded guilty to murder. Kristin Fleckenstein, a spokeswoman for the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s office, said 18-year-old Timothy Darnell Height received a 30-year sentence with all but 15 years suspended, followed by five years of probation. Officers found the toddler dead in her bed in the Bywater neighborhood in June 2010. Autopsy results show that she had suffered several injuries.

Odenton Nat’l Guardsman Pleads Guilty In Child Porn Case. A former National Guardsman from Odenton has pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.Bret Desmarteau, 30, admitted to possessing the illegal images after undercover FBI agents found him among the profiles of a site that shares child porn.Desmarteau will be sentenced on Oct. 13.

Eagles Edge Ravens In Preseason Opener. Michael Vick picked up where he left off last year and then quickly took a safe seat on the sideline. Vick threw for 74 yards and a touchdown pass in his only series and the new-look Philadelphia Eagles beat the Baltimore Ravens 13-6 Thursday night in their preseason opener. Nnamdi Asomugha, Vince Young and several other big-name acquisitions made their debuts for the Eagles, who’ve signed a slew of free agents with impressive resumes in the past two weeks.
