Local Business and Charity Team Up to Sponsor Gala Hair and Fashion Show

Tickets are available now for Style on the Runway, a hair and fashion benefit supporting two local Annapolis non-profit organizations. The show, organized by Stepping Out for Breast Cancer and David Alexander Salon and Spa, will be October 2, 2011 at the Loews Annapolis Hotel.

The event will honor and support women and men coping with breast cancer by presenting a breathtaking hair and fashion show including survivor models who have or have had breast cancer.

The show will showcase unique fashions selected specifically for our models by local Annapolis apparel boutiques. Just some of the boutiques and designers who have donated designs and pieces are; Madison, Carlisle Collection, Lee Anderson, White House Black Market, Enchanted Shoe Box, with more being added weekly.

Along with the hair and fashion show will be an afternoon of living and giving which will include hors d’oeuvres and gourmet food stations provided by local restaurants, including Chart House, Level, Carpaccio, Ruth’s Chris, Vin 909, and McGarvey’s. Desserts will be provided by Select Confections, Mia Dolce and Menchie’s.

Guests will be able to shop a variety of great local vendors and enjoy live music, as well as to participate in a live auction, raffle and games. Some of the items to be auctioned include:

  • An Afternoon with Travis Pastrana at his home to learn how he trains for competition
  • A Christian Siriano cocktail dress hand selected by Christian for our auction
  • One week at Boulder Oaks Mountain Retreat at Wisp Resort–Deep Creek

Says David Alexander Salon and Spa Co-Owner Scott Brainard, “We are amazed and gratified with the amount of support we have gotten for the is event from the local community. It’s easy to let recent news get you down, but to see the level of enthusiasm and generosity we have seen is just fantastic. From our national sponsor, L’Oreal Professionnel US down to our local neighbors, the warmth and devotion to this cause is inspiring. It has certainly inspired our stylists to dig in and create what we think will be an unforgettable show.”

This spectacular show will benefit two local Annapolis organizations, METAvivor Research and Support Inc, a 501(c)(3) non-profit and the Anne Arundel Medical Center Breast Center.
