Another Stabbing In Brooklyn Park

The Anne Arundel County Police are reporting that a man was stabbed and his wife and neighbor were assaulted when his wife’s son attacked the family on Old Riverside Road.

On 8/14/11, at 0140 hours, Officers of Northern District responded to the 400 block of Old Riverside Rd., in Brooklyn Park Md., for a report of a female screaming for help.

Once on scene, contact was made with the victims, a fifty one year old male and female. Officers observed the male suffering from multiple lacerations and stab wounds to his body. Statements obtained indicated that the victim’s son, identified as Jesse Edward Chapman, had returned home intoxicated on CDS. The suspect began choking and assaulting his mother before throwing her onto the floor. Subsequently, the step-father awakened due to the commotion and attempted to intervene. The suspect then obtained a knife from the kitchen area and began stabbing the step-father, causing lacerations to his wrist, shoulder and chest. A female neighbor also entered the residence, in an attempt to assist the victim, at which time she was also assaulted by the suspect. Officers subsequently made entry to the residence, locating the suspect inside and placing him into custody.

The suspect was identified as Jesse Edward Chapman, a twenty five year old male. He was subsequently charged with attempted 2nd degree murder, several counts of 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, 4th degree sex offense, and false imprisonment. All injuries were non-life threatening at this time.
