Child Shot; Man Fatally Stabbed After Fireworks. A man has died in a stabbing and a toddler was shot in separate incidents in downtown Baltimore after Fourth of July fireworks.WBAL-TV 11 News has learned that a 4-year-old boy walking with his parents was shot in the upper thigh in the area of Light and Pratt streets around 10:15 p.m., city police and fire officials confirmed.

Man Dies In Magothy River Boating Accident. A 25-year-old man who fell off a boat in the Magothy River near Dobbins Island has died, state officials said. Maryland Department of Natural Resources Police announced Monday night the presumed death of James Robert Kane, 25, of Pasadena.The Coast Guard said it received a 911 call at about 4:30 p.m. Monday reporting two people who had fallen into the water from a 17-foot skiff that NRP said had suddenly turned sharply. NRP said crews recovered Kane’s friend from the water but Kane remained missing.

Boy,6, Drowns At Sandy Point State Park. A 6-year-old boy died Monday after wandering into the water in an unguarded area of the beach at Sandy Point State Park, according to Maryland Department of Natural Resources officials.Maryland Department of Natural Resources police said the boy, identified as Saquan L. Kennedy, was swimming with his sisters when he somehow got separated from them and went under.Witnesses said park employees got other people on the beach to help in the search.

Dog Dies In Galesville Houseboat Fire. Anne Arundel County fire officials said a dog was killed Sunday night in a one-alarm houseboat fire in Galesville.The fire broke out at about 7:30 p.m. in the West River Marina, at 4801 Riverside Drive, according to fire officials.Officials said it took 38 firefighters a half-hour to bring the fire on the 40-foot houseboat under control.
