Anne Arundel County Police responded to a domestic dispute early this morning to find two women (a wife and daughter) with lacerations to their upper body. The husband was taken into custody and the wife has died from the injuries and the daughter is at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

On July 13, 2011, at approximately 5:02 a.m., officers from the Eastern District responded to the 770 block of Jones Drive (EOA note: we believe this to be 7700 block of Jones Road) in Pasadena for a report of a domestic assault.

Upon arrival, officers located a 38-year-old female victim inside of the residence suffering from apparent lacerations to the upper body. The victim was transported via ambulance by fire department personnel to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 6:02 a.m. In addition, an adult female, determined to be the daughter of the 38-year-old female victim, suffered lacerations and was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The adult male suspect, who was on scene, was taken into custody by officers without incident.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect assaulted his wife inside of the home. During the assault, the victim’s daughter intervened and also sustained injuries. Detectives from the Homicide Unit have assumed responsibility for the investigation and the incident is being treated as domestic-related. Detectives have conducted several interviews, collected evidence from the scene and will be conducting a search warrant on the residence. Charges are currently pending against the suspect, whose name is not being released at this time. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Norval Cooper of the Homicide Unit at 410-222-3453.
