Annapolis Irish Festival Next Weekend

The Inaugural Annapolis Irish Festival kicks-off July 9, 2011 at the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. From 11am to 9pm, the Fairgrounds will light up with live music & entertainment, Gaelic Games, over 50 vendors offering authentic Irish crafts, foods, clothing & jewelry will bring the flavor of the Emerald Isle here to Annapolis. Leprechaun Land will keep the wee ones happy with pony rides, a Kids Music Show by Ireland’s own Seamus Kennedy, Irish Step Dance Lessons, PeeWee Pirate show with Capt.Gracie O’Malley & more.

The Festival boasts an incredible music line-up:  Annapolis’ Favorite Celtic Rock Band, The Rovers, Ice Wagon Flu, Screaming Orphans, burning Bridget Cleary, Seamus Kennedy, The Shamrogues, James Gallagher & Off the Boat and The Chesapeake Caledonian Pipes and Drums.  Fans of Irish Dance will be thrilled to watch The Culkin and the Broesler Schools of Irish Dance. Gaelic Games will give the lads a chance to cheer and raise a pint to the favorite team.  Don’t fret over the heat, our misting tent and oversized tents throughout the festival area will give you shade and cool you down.

Festivals Director Ed McGowan is pleased with the reception from the Community; “The response from the Annapolis Community has been overwhelming”. The Festival sponsors are a testimony. Tickets are $15 and available on-line at www.annapolisirishfestival.com . Galway Bay, Kilarney House and Brian Boru all have a limited number of tickets at $5 off the regular price available at their fine establishments while they last.
