Hit-And-Run Suspect Flees Crash Leaves Infant In Car. Police in Anne Arundel County are searching for a hit-and-run suspect who investigators said struck a minivan while driving with an infant in the car.Investigators said Juan Adrien Perez, 27, of Brooklyn Park, struck a minivan head-on shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of 8th Avenue NW near Mary Wagner Lane in Glen Burnie. Police said Perez was seen running from the crash.An 8-month-old child inside the car was taken to Baltimore-Washington Medical Center as a precaution. A 43-year-old woman inside the minivan was taken to Shock Trauma for serious injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Dog Fatally Shot In Severn. A pit bull in Anne Arundel County was shot and killed after the animal attacked another dog in Severn, police said.Investigators said the two dogs were being walked Sunday morning along Stillmeadows Drive near Oriole Court when one pit bull attacked the other dog.Police said a man, who identified himself as Anthony Noriega, arrived to the scene with a semiautomatic handgun and shot one of the dogs.
Police: Roommate Kept Body In Closet For Days. A man kept his roommate’s body in a bedroom closet for four days after killing him, Hagerstown police said.Darrell Hicks, 53, remained behind bars on $750,000 bond after a bail review Monday. He’s charged with second-degree murder. Investigators said Hicks acknowledged stabbing Darrin Pressman, 45, in their downtown apartment May 30. He allegedly told police his instincts took over when Pressman came out of a bedroom with a large kitchen knife. Police said he told investigators that he grabbed the knife and stabbed Pressman several times. Pressman’s girlfriend found the body on Friday. She told police she pushed her way past Hicks to check on an odor coming from Pressman’s room.
MD Special Olympian To Carry Torch. A Special Olympics Maryland athlete chosen to carry the flame at the games in Greece embarked upon his international trip Monday.Adam Hays has competed in Special Olympics since he was a kid. Now, as an adult, he’s on his way to Athens for the World Games. Hays is one of only 10 people worldwide picked to represent Special Olympics in the final leg of The Flame of Hope run. Hays is no stranger to the Special Olympics: He has represented the Special Olympics in the Super Plunge and has always taken part in the torch run.”I can’t wait to get out there and represent the United States because I’m only one of three in the U.S. that’s going,” he said.
