The Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena, has announced activities and events for June.

Father’s Day Breakfast

The Pasadena Senior Activity Center will prepare a scrambled egg and sausage breakfast fat 9 a.m. June 20 at the center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena, to celebrate Father’s Day. Register for the event by June 13 at the front desk. On the day of the event, check in at the front desk and receive a wrist band to be served. Call 410-222-0030 for information.

Financial affairs

Jay Bogaczyk, financial planner for Sandy Spring Bank, will give a lecture on saving options such as bonds, stock annuities and more at a program on financial affairs at 10:30 a.m. June 14 at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena. For information, call 410-222-0030.

Stay Longer in Your Home

Register by June 14 for the “Creative Solutions for Getting In, Out, and Around Your Home” at 10:30 a.m. June 21 at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Stay At Home, an access resources company, will present ideas to assist older individuals and those with disabilities to stay longer in their own homes. Call 410-222-0030 for information.

Flag Day presentation

Gerry McCavera, vexillologist, will present “State Flags of the United States” with a unique look at the flags of the original 13 colonies at a Flag Day presentation at 10:30 a.m. June 15 at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4102 Mountain Road, Pasadena. He also will give a talk on the 50 states and their symbolic flags and other facts about the past, future and historical origins of flags. For information and registration, call 410-222-0030.

Social Security

Register by June 15 for a “Social Security Education” program to be presented at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena, at 10:30 a.m. June 22. Liz Maples, public affairs specialist for Social Security, will educate members on the most current Social Security information including retirement benefits, survivors’ benefits, disability, and Medicare. Buying a Car?

Register by June 22 for a program on “How to Effectively Negotiate a New Car Purchase” at 12:30 p.m. June 29 at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena. Mike Rabkin, president of “From Car to Finish,” will present information on how to navigate the entire purchase process. This will include how to choose, test drive, and negotiate for the vehicle, as well as how to navigate the items after the sale that dealers will attempt to sell you. Intro to Social Networking: Facebook

Do you want to learn how to communicate through the social network? Computer instructor Donna Shoemaker will host a two-day workshop on the popular social network site called Facebook. Her program will teach the class how to set up an account and navigate the site. Participants must have a usable e-mail address with password for the workshop, which is open for members that have not previously taken this workshop. Sign-ups begin June 22 at the Pasadena Senior Activity Center, 4103 Mountain Road, Pasadena. The workshops will be from 10 a.m. to noon July 13 and July 20 at the center. Crab feast

Reservations are being taken now for the “Crab Feast at Red Roost Inn” trip in Whitehaven on July 19. The $64 cost per person includes steamed crabs with other pre-chosen menu, live entertainment, bus fare, driver tips and tour of the brewery. You must be a current member of the center to signup. Call 410-222-0030 to find out how to be eligible for the trip. Payment may be made when the trip desk is open: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays.
