Hoes then reached on a force attempt and a fielding error by third baseman Chris Dominguez that loaded the bases. Designated hitter Robbie Widlansky then singled to left field to score Avery and keep the bases loaded before Edwin Quirarte entered the game for the Squirrels. Waring grounded into a double play that also eliminated Widlansky at second, but Miclat scored on the play to put the Baysox up 9-0.
