Baysox Better Than Ties For Father’s Day

The Bowie Baysox announce today a far more fashionable gift for Father’s Day than a tie, as the team hosts a special Post-Father’s Day Celebration at Prince George’s Stadium Sunday, June 26, as the team takes on the Binghamton Mets at 2:05 p.m.  The event takes place one week after Father’s Day and features pregame catch on the field and a meet the team autograph session.

Baysox General Manager Brian Shallcross loves spending Father’s Day at the ballpark with his family.  “This is the first time in years that the Baysox have not been home for Father’s Day,” Shallcross said.  “As one of the top family entertainment venues in the area, we still wanted to host an event for dads to spend some quality time with their families at the ballpark.”

Fathers can bring their families down on the field to play catch from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m.  Families must bring their own gloves and baseballs, the team will not provide equipment.  Fans can also meet the team at that time as the Baysox players and coaches sign autographs and pose for pictures on the concourse level of the stadium.  Pitching Coach Kennie Steenstra and that day’s starting pitcher and catcher are not available for autographs.

The Baysox have a pair of Father’s Day ticket packages available at www.BaysoxShop.com.  The Baysox Father’s Day Fan Pack is $79 and includes six undated lower reserved seat tickets good for any Baysox 2011 home game and a black adjustable Baysox hat featuring the team’s “Pitching Fish” alternate logo or a black adjustable Baysox road hat with a black bill and the team’s “B” logo.  The Father’s Day Super Pack is $144 and includes 12 undated lower reserved seat tickets for any Baysox 2011 home game, a season ticket holder t-shirt featuring the names of the first 113 Baysox players to make it to the big leagues, and either the black “Pitching Fish” logo hat or the Baysox road replica hat.

Baysox Baseball – We’ll Knock Your ‘Sox Off. The Baysox 19th season as the class Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles is underway.  Parking is free at every Baysox home game and tickets are now available at www.baysox.com or by calling the Baysox box office at (301) 464-4865.
