UPDATE 02:41pm 06/09/2011:
Through the investigation, the suspect was initially identified through a photo by witnesses at the scene as Juan Adrien Perez, 27, of 18 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn Park, Maryland; however, a follow-up investigation has since ruled out Mr. Perez as the suspect and the arrest warrant has been revoked.
The investigation is ongoing at this time and officers will be further examining the information that was initially provided by witnesses at the scene. Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Northern District at 410-222-6135.
Anne Arundel County Police need help from the public in identifying two suspects. One was involved in a hit and run (see below) and the other in a bank robbery.
From the Anne Arundel County Police Department on the hit and run:
On June 5, 2011, at approximately 9:54 a.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the 200 block of 8th Avenue NW in Glen Burnie for a report of a motor vehicle crash with reported injuries.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 48-year-old operator of a white 1997 Dodge Caravan, who reported that he was traveling eastbound on 8th Avenue near Mary Wagner Lane when a red 1996 two-door Acura traveling westbound on 8th Avenue failed to remain right of the center lane and collided head on with the Dodge Caravan. The operator of the Acura exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot in the direction of a wood line on 8th Avenue. Additional occupants of the Acura remained on scene.
One of the occupants of the Acura, an eight-month-old child, was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for precautionary purposes. A 43-year-old female occupant of the Dodge Caravan was transported to Shock Trauma for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Northern District officers with assistance from a K-9 unit canvassed the area and attempted to establish the suspect’s escape route and direction of travel, but were unable to locate him.
Through the investigation, the suspect has been identified as Juan Adrien Perez, 27, with a previous address of 18 2nd Avenue in Brooklyn Park, Maryland. Juan Perez may also be using the following names: Jorge Martinez-Perez, Yovani Perez-Zamayoa and Yovani Perez-Zamoxa. The suspect has a current unknown address in the Glen Ridge Community Apartment Complex. The suspect is a Hispanic male with short, black hair, last observed wearing a white, short-sleeve, collared shirt with buttons and blue jeans.
An arrest warrant has since been applied for charging Perez with several hit and run traffic citations. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Northern District at 410-222-6135.
And here is the information on the bank robbery in Edgewater:
On June 2, 2011, at approximately 2:30 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the M&T Bank located in the 3100 block of Solomons Island Road in Edgewater for an armed robbery that just occurred.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with employees, who stated that a male suspect entered the bank, approached the tellers and demanded money while implying that he had a weapon. The tellers complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency to the suspect, who fled the bank on foot in a southerly direction. Several officers canvassed the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. The
above suspect is described as a white male, 5’7”, 220 lbs., wearing a gray and yellow baseball cap, white t-shirt, dark pants, a stocking over his face and latex type gloves
