In the state of Maryland for the year 2010, 562 deaths were attributed to suicide; of that number, 113 deaths were recorded for people under the age of 30.  Suicide is ranked as the 3rd leading cause of death for 15 to 20 year olds.

In 2010, 44 of those people took their own lives in Anne Arundel County.  You may even have known one of them.

Approximately 864,950 Americans attempt suicide each year.  In many cases, the warning signs were there, but others may not have known how to interpret the signals.  If you suspected that someone might be thinking about taking their own life, would you know what to do?
