The Baltimore Grand Prix announced the concert line-up for the inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix to be held September 2-4, 2011 in downtown Baltimore. Headlining the concert series in the Infield Party Zone during the event weekend will be national recording artist, Collective Soul and a representation of top bands that make Baltimore their home.

“We’re going to have an amazing weekend of entertainment at the Baltimore Grand Prix,” commented

Baltimore Grand Prix President and CEO, Jay Davidson, “Accompanying the roar of the IZOD IndyCars will be a fantastic line-up of bands that will keep the party going all weekend in the Infield Party Zone.”  Baltimore’s 98 Rock will be the host DJs for the concert stage and will kick-off the weekend festivities on Friday night and continue the party through Sunday afternoon. The concert stage is set at the intersection of Howard and Camden streets in the heart of the Infield Party Zone and will allow Grand Prix ticket holders to enjoy free, non-stop concerts during the Grand Prix event weekend.

Headline artist Collective Soul, originally from Stockbridge, Georgia, stormed onto the music scene in 1993 with their first hit single “Shine” from their debut album—Hints, Allegations and Things Left Unsaid; which went Double Platinum. The band has continued to perform and record and to date has seven number one hits on its lengthy resume of accolades and awards.

Also scheduled to be on stage during the event weekend will be acts such as: The Bridge, a rock band that blends the elements of funk, hip-hop, bluegrass and jazz into their sound who are coming off of their national tour behind their fifth album; National Bohemian; Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, a rock/punk band that has been topping charts for 19 years with their high energy experience; All Mighty Senators— a funk band with a great horn section that has been making music for 24 years; and a host of other top name bands. A full band line-up and performance times can be found at www.baltimoregrandprix.com.

The inaugural Baltimore Grand Prix is scheduled for Friday, September 2 through Sunday, September 4, 2011, and will encompass a 2.0 mile temporary street circuit traveling through the heart of Baltimore’s Downtown, rushing past the scenic Inner Harbor and racing around Camden Yards. The race weekend will feature a spectacular combination of world-class racing and festivities, highlighted by the American Le Mans Series and IZOD IndyCar Series. Tickets for the Baltimore Grand Prix are available online at www.baltimoregrandprix.com or by phone at 877-4-FLY-TIX.
