6th Annual Home & Garden Tour

Tickets to the Eastport Civic Association’s 6th Annual Home & Garden Tour, to be held Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 5 p.m., are selling fast.  Advance purchase tickets, at $20, are now available through six convenient local merchants: Ahh, Coffee!; BB&T on Sixth Street; Eastport Deli; K&B True Value; Leeward Market; and Windwood Gardens.  Or go to the Eastport Civic Association’s website: www.eastportcivic.org/tour2011.  If still available, tickets will be sold for $25 on June 12 at Horn Point Harbour Marina, 103 Eastern Avenue.

The tour will feature 10 lovely homes and two additional gardens at the Horn Point end of the Eastport peninsula, an area surrounded on three sides by water.  The homes and gardens, half of which have water views, are within easy walking distance of one another on Chester Avenue, Eastern Avenue, Horn Point Court and First Street.  Also featured on the tour will be an Eastport storm water runoff garden completed recently through the Watershed Stewards Academy.

In addition to peeking behind doors and into gardens, tour participants will have an opportunity to observe members of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association use their amazing talents to interpret lovely Eastport homes and landscapes.  The resulting works will be available for sale at 3 p.m. that day.

Proceeds from the tour will go to local community programs sponsored by the Eastport Civic Association.  Funds raised last year helped support camps for elementary school students, neighborhood crime prevention programs, and flowers on the Spa Creek bridge, and helped fund the Eastport Volunteer Fire Department’s new ladder truck and the Annapolis Drum and Bugle Corps.

The tour will be held rain or shine.
