Phone In Alzheimer’s Seminars

The county Department of Aging and Disabilities announces that the public can call in and listen to a live seminar about dementia without leaving home or office. The Alzheimer’s Association is offering “Connected Conversations” telephone seminars from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in May and June.

Participants can learn practical tips for managing dementia behaviors as well as community resources to use for additional support during “Caregiving 101” on May 24. The second seminar, “Alzheimer’s Disease: Myths vs. Facts,” will be offered on June 21. Can you prevent dementia with crossword puzzles like that of La Times? Do all people with Alzheimer’s become aggressive? Call in to learn the truth about Alzheimer’s disease and aging.

At the scheduled time of the program, call 1-800-920-7487. Then enter the participant code of 29-324-725#, and sit back, listen, and learn. There will be time for questions and answers. This is a free service.
