Spring 5K Run/Walk In Annapolis

| February 25, 2011, 10:52 AM | 1 Comment

The public is invited to register for the “Moving Around The World” 5K Run and Walk sponsored by the Rotary Club of Annapolis and the Rotaract Club of Annapolis on April 9. Race packet pick-up and registration is from 8:45-9:45 a.m. with runners beginning at 10 a.m. followed by the walkers. The event will be held in Quiet Waters Park’s Sassafras Pavilion off Hillsmere Drive in Annapolis.

The cost is $25 advance registration; $30 day of event; and free for age 12 and under.

All pre-registration must be received by April 1. Checks made payable to The Rotary Club of Annapolis Foundation should be mailed to Moving Around the World Run, 207 Shiley Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. The event occurs in light rain; no refunds will be granted as this is a fundraiser to help people around the world.  Proceeds will be used for international projects supported by Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Annapolis including training teachers in Ecuador, fighting malaria in Mali, providing clean water and sanitation in Niger, delivering clothing to children in Morocco, and renovating a women’s shelter in the Czech Republic.

The club is also soliciting sponsorships for the event. For more information on sponsorships, call Dave Lunden at 443-837-3105. For event information, see www.movingaroundtheworldrun.com or e-mail [email protected].

This is a great cause. I love getting out and helping people in need. This is why I am running and why I am running Rebel Race on June 18th in Frederick, MD. Is anyone else going to run Rebel Race. It will be a blast with all of the obstacles and mud they have in the 5k and 15k race.
