Gay Marriage Supporters Plan Valentine’s Day Push.  Same-sex marriage supporters will rally in front of the Maryland State House on Valentine’s Day as part of a national campaign.Supporters of a measure to legalize the unions in Maryland said last week they will rally in the state capital on Valentine’s Day and lobby lawmakers later Monday night.If approved by lawmakers, Maryland would become the sixth state to legalize gay marriage.A state senator switched his vote in favor of the measure Thursday after what he called “appalling” behavior by opponents at public hearing on the measure.

AA County Police Arrest Carjacking Suspects. Anne Arundel County police have made two arrests in a carjacking they said occurred at knife point Saturday.Conley Marvin Bell, 48, and Charity Marie Lowe, 40, face attempted carjacking and first-degree assault charges, officials said.Police responded to a call at 5408 Southern Maryland Boulevard in Lothian at about 6:28 p.m.

BARCS Treating Beaten Cat.  Workers at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter were treating a cat allegedly beaten by young kids.According to BARCS, a Good Samaritan saw two boys beating the cat with a stick Friday in Fells Point. “The cat’s leg was very limp, completely broken,” according to Darlene Harris of BARCS.BARCS said the man was unable to track the two boys down.

Woman Struck By MTA Bus Dies. A 50-year-old woman struck by an MTA bus Saturday in Baltimore County has died.The bus struck the woman at about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Park Heights and Slade avenues in Pikesville and the northeast corner of Baltimore City. Authorities said the woman was stuck under the bus before her rescue.The woman was taken to Shock Trauma, where she succumbed to her injuries. The woman’s identity was not immediately released.
