February Storm Updates

UPDATE 05:08 am 02/01/2011: Anne Arundel Community College will be opening at 9:30am.

UPDATE 04:55 am 02/01/2011: Due to the icy conditions, all Anne Arundel County Public Schools will open two hours late today. There will be no morning half-day pre-kindergarten or ECI classes. Students in full-day pre-kindergarten classes will have class, and should report two hours later than normal.

UPDATE 08:40pm 01/61/2011: From BGE:

Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) this evening announced that it has nearly 1,200 company, contractor and out-of-state field forces identified for deployment in support of electric service restoration, should power outages result from the approaching ice and freezing rain forecasted to hit Central Maryland this evening and continue into Wednesday.  In addition to these field resources, many BGE employees are currently transitioning from their normal work duties into their storm roles in advance of the storm’s arrival. Customers are reminded to stay informed on restoration efforts via Twitter, Facebook and Flickr.

UPDATE 03:22pm 01/31/2011: Annapolis City Hall has announced that it will open two hours late tomorrow 2/1/2011 and have a liberal leave policy in place.

As with prior storms, we will be posting news, updates, closings, delays, video and photos to Eye On Annapolis to this singular post. This post will be pinned to the top for the duration of the weather event. Currently the NWS has issued an advisory. Local forecaster are calling for snow, rain and sleet to coat the area in ice beginning tonight and lasting through Wednesday.
