AAMC Foundation Plans Gala To Benefit New Patient Care Tower

The Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC) Foundation is planning its 2011 gala to raise funds  for AAMC’s new 8-story Patient Care Tower, which is scheduled to open this April.   Comcast Business Class is the Presenting/Diamond Sponsor of this year’s event and BB&T Bank has signed on as a Gold Sponsor.

The signature fundraiser, whose theme this year is “Imagine….”  will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Baltimore Inner Harbor.  Festivities include dinner, dancing to the live music of the band “Prime Time”, and a silent and live auction.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the new Patient Care Tower, which will bring expanded health facilities to AAMC, including a new Pediatric Emergency Department, a Pediatric Inpatient Suite, an expanded Emergency Department, fifty new private patient rooms, and eight new surgical suites.  The tower will increase AAMC’s ability to promptly, efficiently, and appropriately serve the hundreds of people who seek the hospital’s services daily.

The goal of the gala committee is to raise sponsorship dollars to support the new tower.  “We’ve got more work to do, but we’re off to a strong start, thanks to the generosity of our growing list of sponsors and partners, particularly our lead sponsors–Comcast Business Class, Righttime Medical Care and BB&T,” said Brant Standridge, event co-chair and Maryland State President for BB&T Bank.  “I’m grateful for the strong community and business support that will help benefit so many people in our region.”

The annual gala is a major source of funding support for numerous AAMC projects and campaigns, including the AAMC Geaton and Joanne DeCesaris Cancer Institute,  the NeoNatal Intensive Care Unit, the Brain and Spine Center, and advanced technological equipment for patient care.  .
