2011 Green Beer Races Open To Public

The public is invited to attend the 2011 Annapolis Green Beer Races on Saturday, March 12th from 11am to 9pm (Rain or Shine) at the Eastport Democratic Club, 525 State Street in Annapolis.  The private club, will host 4-person (2 men, 2 women) Bar/Restaurant Relay and Children’s (Kool-Aid) races in addition to the annual Men’s and Women’s Keg Toss.

The Event will feature a series of team relay races in which contestants will carry Green Beer on trays while completing a team course as fast as possible.  The competition works like the NCAA Bracket and will consist of teams facing off in a single elimination setting, with the winning team of each race moving to the next round.

Schedule is as follows:aces from 2010

11am                    Registration
1pm                      Kids Green Kool-Aid Races
2pm-5pm             Relay Races & Keg Toss
5pm-9pm             Greenbeerfest – Featuring live music

Refreshments will be available for purchase including Green Beer, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Steamed Spiced Shrimp, Fresh-Shucked Oysters on the Half Shell and more.  In addition, prizes will be awarded for “Best Dressed Dog” and “Cutest Leprechaun.”

A portion of the proceeds of the 2011 Green Beer Races will benefit The SPCA of Anne Arundel County.
