| January 06, 2011, 04:19 AM | 3 Comments

UPDATE 12:30 PM 01/06/2010: Pasadena Patch is reporting that three homes suffered damage in this blaze and has detailed coverage. Photos will be forthcoming.

NOTE: Initial dispatch initially stated 208th Street. Actual fire was on 209th Street.

Last night, just before 9pm, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department was dispatched to a garage fire at 806 208th 209th Street in Pasadena, Maryland. Arriving units advised that there was a garage fire with some extension into the dwelling.

Just after midnight, they were re-dispatched to the same location to discover the home with heavy flames in the dwelling from what they call a re-kindle.

Street was 209th not 208th. Should get your simple facts right

  2. John Frenaye says:

Will make the correction. The initial dispatch was incorrect:
    PASADENA, 30-14 | ANNE ARUNDEL | *WORKING FIRE* | 806 208TH ST | GARAGE FIRE W/ EXTENSION INTO THE DWELLING. | 31 |

    Second dispatch:
    PASADENA | ANNE ARUNDEL | *2ND ALM* | 806 208TH ST | FD O/S WITH HEAVY FIRE IN A DWELLING, LOCATION OF EARLIER INCIDENT. | MD05, MD15, MD31 |

    Update:
    PASADENA | ANNE ARUNDEL | *U/D* | 806 209TH ST | CMD RPTS HEAVY FIRE IN 1 STRU, W/EXTENSION INTO THE DELTA EXPO | MD31/15/05 |

  3. Jared Brown says:

The blaze also spread to the next door neighbor’s house, burning their attic and part of the second floor of the house.
The other side neighbor’s house’s siding melted off and was smoking. The blaze was so hot that a neighbor’s house from all the way across the street had its siding melted by the extreme heat.
Fire fighters then stayed from midnight to 4:30am spraying water on the houses.
Neighbors are upset with the fire department because at the end of the first fire at around 11pm, before firefighters left the scene, the neighbors told the fire men that the house was still smoking from the small part of the roof above the garage. The fire men never cut into that void to spray into it, and disregarded the comments; this with disastrous consequences because within one hour the fire had reignited and could have proved deadly to the two sleeping family’s next door, and it ended up changing one family’s life forever now that everything that they own has been burned up.
