6th Annual GumboFest

Too big to fail (band)
Local band, Too Big To Fail will be jamming at the GumboFest

On Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1pm to 4pm, the Chesapeake Chefs Association will host the 6th Annual GumboFest at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront in Annapolis, MD.

Though the GumboFest only started in 2006 to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina, it has quickly grown into an extremely popular Annapolis social event.  Since 2006, the Chesapeake Chefs Association has focused their fundraising efforts to benefit local charities.  This year, funds raised at the GumboFest will exclusively benefit the Light House: A Homeless Prevention Support Center in Annapolis.

The 2011 GumboFest will be held at the Annapolis Marriott Waterfront on Sunday, February 27 from 1pm to 4pm, and will feature over 15 chefs from Annapolis and the surrounding area.

The chefs will compete for prizes including 1st PLACE ~ BEST GUMBO in the categories of Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice. A cash prize for Best Booth Display, People’s Choice and Judges’ Choice will also be awarded.

In addition to the culinary treats, the local band TOO BIG TO FAIL, a Rock’n’Roll and R&B band will be playing songs from the 60’s to the present. The band is passionate about their music and with multiple guitars, percussion and keyboards, they have a full and really tight sound.

This year, a generous Esthetic Services Package was donated by Dr. Sutter for the door prize. Tickets for a 50/50 will also be sold during the event.

Tickets for the GumboFest will be sold at the door the day of the event for $15 or two for $25.  If you are planning on attending, come early – last year, over 500 people attended.  For more information, please contact Melanie Quinn,  Event Coordinator for Friends of the Light House Shelter at 410-353-6424 or [email protected]
