Murder In Glen Burnie

UPDATE: Police are asking anyone who may have seen the victim’s vehicle on Friday morning to contact police.  The vehicle is a red Suzuki Sidekick.

On Friday, January 28th, 2011 at approximately 1051 hours, officers responded to a call of a sick/injured subject in the parking lot of the Pep Boys and Gavigan’s Furniture stores, 7300 block of Ritchie Highway, Glen Burnie, Maryland.  Officers found a female victim inside a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to her upper body.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.  Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division were called and this incident is being investigated as a homicide.  The motive appears to be robbery-related.

The victim was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore City.  There is no information on a suspect at this time.
