UPDATE 10:07pm: The truck has been moved to the Park N Ride on Route 424 in Davidsonville. Route 50 Westbound was open for traffic at 10:07pm.
UPDATE 8:34pm: ABC 2 News has identified the chemical being carried as Isophthaloyl Chloride. Radio traffic indicates that there is a contractor on site to evaluate the condition of the truck and determine the next steps. Eastbound Route 50 has been re-opened for traffic according to CHART. UPDATES: The following roads are closed. Route 50 westbound before I-97. Route I-97 in both directions. Route 665 is closed at Route 50 east. Police and fire departments are evacuating vehicles that are stuck on I-97 and Route 50. Radio chatter indicates this will be a long term incident
The Anne Arundel County fire department is shutting down Route 50 West at Route 665. This is in response to a tanker truck that parked under the I-97 Overpass leaking a chemical that is reactive to water.
