Police Statement On Stabbing In Edgewater

The following statement was just released form the police department. There are some inconsistencies as the initial dispatch for assistance was to the Rockhold address and one patient was classified as Priority 1.

From the police department:

On December 12, 2010 at approximately 0052hrs, Anne Arundel County Police Officers from Southern District responded to 400 blk. of Salisbury Road, Edgewater, for the report of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers observed a large crowd in the street and a disabled vehicle nearby with seven occupants.  Also, found were three victims that had been stabbed.

Two of the victims, a juvenile from Annapolis and an adult from Edgewater, were transported by Ambulance to Anne Arundel Medical Center where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.  The third victim, an adult male from Annapolis, was transported by Ambulance to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and is undergoing treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation has revealed there was of a party at a house in the 400 blk. of Salisbury Road that had gone out of control and escalated into a large fight in the street with subsequent multiple stabbings.

The suspect(s) in the assault remains unknown and the investigation is continuing by Southern District detectives.
