UPDATE: Stabbing In Edgewater

UPDATE 12-01-2010: The second suspect in the case, Tyrell Markell Dailey, turned himself in at the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Southern District during the evening of November 30, 2010. Dailey is currently being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $750,000 bail.

UPDATE: The Anne Arundel County Police have clarified that while there were two female occupants of the vehicle, only one (pictured below) was arrested and charged. The male suspect still remains at large.

From the police release:

On November 29, 2010, at approximately 7:43 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Taco Bell restaurant located in the 3000 block of Solomons Island Road in Edgewater for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old male victim from Annapolis in the parking lot suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. The victim stated that a male suspect known to him stabbed him after a short physical altercation. Several witnesses stated the suspect then fled northbound on Solomons Island Road towards Annapolis in a black Chevy sedan that was occupied by two teenage females. Numerous officers, a K-9 unit and the Aviation unit canvassed the area extensively, but the suspect was not located.

The vehicle and the two female occupants were located a short time later on Central Avenue; however, the suspect remains at large and was believed to have been dropped off on Riva Road in the area of Harry Truman Parkway. The female driver was subsequently arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault and Attempted Second Degree Murder. The victim was transported via helicopter to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.

Southern District Detectives were called to assist with the investigation. At this time, an arrest warrant has been issued for Tyrell Markell Dailey, 19, of 125 Tydings Drive, Edgewater, Maryland charging the suspect with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Suspect: Hailey Mock, 17, of 1224 Pine Avenue, Edgewater, Md

The other teen arrested was presumably charged as a minor and her name and information is not available. According to court records, Tyrell Dailey was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, Theft of property from $1,000 to $10,000 and Conspiracy to commit 1st Degree Burglary in March 2010. He was found guilty in a plea agreement in August 2010. The presiding judge sentenced him to 3 years in prison but suspended all buy 4 days to be served in the County jail.
