UPDATE 12-01-2010: The second suspect in the case, Tyrell Markell Dailey, turned himself in at the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Southern District during the evening of November 30, 2010. Dailey is currently being held at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on $750,000 bail.

UPDATE: The Anne Arundel County Police have clarified that while there were two female occupants of the vehicle, only one (pictured below) was arrested and charged. The male suspect still remains at large.

From the police release:

On November 29, 2010, at approximately 7:43 p.m., officers from the Southern District responded to the Taco Bell restaurant located in the 3000 block of Solomons Island Road in Edgewater for a report of a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 21-year-old male victim from Annapolis in the parking lot suffering from a stab wound to his upper torso. The victim stated that a male suspect known to him stabbed him after a short physical altercation. Several witnesses stated the suspect then fled northbound on Solomons Island Road towards Annapolis in a black Chevy sedan that was occupied by two teenage females. Numerous officers, a K-9 unit and the Aviation unit canvassed the area extensively, but the suspect was not located.

The vehicle and the two female occupants were located a short time later on Central Avenue; however, the suspect remains at large and was believed to have been dropped off on Riva Road in the area of Harry Truman Parkway. The female driver was subsequently arrested and charged with Second Degree Assault and Attempted Second Degree Murder. The victim was transported via helicopter to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.

Southern District Detectives were called to assist with the investigation. At this time, an arrest warrant has been issued for Tyrell Markell Dailey, 19, of 125 Tydings Drive, Edgewater, Maryland charging the suspect with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is urged to contact the Southern District Detective Unit at 410-222-1960 or contact the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410-222-8610.

Suspect: Hailey Mock, 17, of 1224 Pine Avenue, Edgewater, Md

The other teen arrested was presumably charged as a minor and her name and information is not available. According to court records, Tyrell Dailey was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, Theft of property from $1,000 to $10,000 and Conspiracy to commit 1st Degree Burglary in March 2010. He was found guilty in a plea agreement in August 2010. The presiding judge sentenced him to 3 years in prison but suspended all buy 4 days to be served in the County jail.

  2. chester says:

Im trying to figure out why a good white girl would be helping out a black guy like that

  3. fhdfjhf says:

    haha aunt kim !!!

  4. Jason Daniels says:

Why would anyone want to hang out with a thug like this? The girl is probably a sloot into drugs. Kimberly, its a blessing in disguise that your daughter isn’t allowed to hang out with this scum. Isn’t this the guy that was dealing weed in the McD’s drive thru down the street?

  5. KR says:

You know what you all need to learn the fact that innocent until proven guilty. Have you ever heard of that? The arresting documents claim that they arrested this girl for assault and attempted murder and yet the victim said he was stabbed by the male and did not mention Hayley at all. The least she should have been arrested for was accessory after the fact if she did in fact take him in her car. And mentioning that the girl is into drugs is just the sort of crap that you should not say unless you know for sure. Its all speculation at this point. As far as I am concerned is she is only guilty by association and nothing else.

  6. Kimberly Shover says:

I do agree that it is all speculation however the young man that was stabbed showed up at my house the day after it happened. I never said it was over drugs but….If you want to know the truth it was!! Edgewater is saturated with drugs and our young people are suffering because of it!! I feel really bad for hayley’s situation I would not wish this on any child or parent. I have been through the wringer with my adult son. I’m sure Hayley was scared when all of this went down but she left her friend whom had been stabbed in a parking lot and drove off with the guy who stabbed him. I guess it was a matter of fright or flight. No one could say what they would do in that situation. She is just a child.

    IMHO
She waited in the car for him while he confronted the victim. Then she drove him into Annapolis. Scared or not, she is guilty. This altercation was pre-planned. Whether she knew the guy had a knife or if the plan was to stab the victim is irrelevant. She is not an accessory after the fact. She was there waiting for him. That is called being an accomplice, which is much more serious. I’m sorry this happened. I’m sorry for the victim and for the perps – all three of them. However, feeling sorry for them does not mean I condone the actions. On the contrary, I believe all three of them should get the max. The victim is probably not without some level of blame as well. However, he was the one with a knife in his chest. This was attempted murder with three suspects, no matter how you slice it and no matter what their individual reasons were or circumstances are. Four lives irrevocably changed forever, and this doesn’t take into account their loved ones.
