Anne Arundel County Office of Emergency Management

9 am–11 am, Fri., Jan. 28, 2011, Disaster Volunteer Management Training: This free training will teach agencies about the process of disaster volunteer management, and how they can effectively access and utilize volunteers post-disaster. After taking this course, you will know how spontaneous volunteers can be matched to your agency’s needs and make a real difference for your ability to respond. The goal is to utilize volunteers in ways that compliment response and recovery efforts after an emergency or disaster instead of complicating the efforts of first responders. This workshop will teach you how your agency can prepare to use volunteers to respond following a disaster, even if you do not have an ongoing volunteer program. The course is being held at the Emergency Operation Center (Henry Hein Building, 7480 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061). Please contact Chrissy Calp at [email protected] or 410-222-0602 to register.
