80 MPH Winds Accompany Overnight Storms. Apparent 80 mph wind gusts ripped off roofs, uprooted trees and caused power outages early Wednesday.The hardest hit areas appeared to be northeast Baltimore and Parkville, with more than 100 homes damaged.The National Weather Service is working to confirm reports of a tornado touchdown in the 2200 block of Fleetwood Avenue, according to Baltimore City Fire Department spokesman Kevin Cartwright.

Harris Criticized Over Health Care Remarks.  Maryland’s newest congressman has kicked up controversy with remarks about his own health care.Rep.-elect Andy Harris, R-1st District, who snagged the seat away from Democrat Frank Kratovil in a hotly contested race, ran on a platform against government-run health care, but he’s getting criticized for questioning why his government health care plan takes so long to kick in.Harris made the remarks during Monday’s freshman orientation in Washington, which is intended to acquaint the new members of Congress with their new jobs. Critics called his remarks hypocritical.

Body Found In Box Along MD Highway. Maryland State Police said a body was found Tuesday inside a box off of a Frederick County highway.A State Highway Administration maintenance crew was working at about 9:45 a.m. near Braddock Mountain when the box was spotted off the shoulder of Interstate 70 in a wooded, roadside embankment.”The contents of the box appeared to be that of a deceased human body,” police said in a news release. “The workers immediately called state police.”

Ravens, Buccaneers Kickoff Time ChangedThe Nov. 28 game between the Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been moved to 4:15 p.m.The Week 12 NFL schedule was finalized Tuesday, with the originally scheduled San Diego Chargers vs. Indianapolis Colts Sunday night game on WBAL/NBC remaining in place.The Philadelphia Eagles vs. Chicago Bears and Ravens vs. Bucs games had originally been scheduled for 1 p.m. but were moved.
