Navy Investigating Theft Of Baseball Equipment. Federal investigators are working to find equipment stolen from the U.S. Naval Academy’s baseball stadium. The Naval Criminal Investigative Service found stolen baseball gloves with distinctive markings that were being sold on eBay. Federal investigators searched a Calvert County house last month as part of an investigation into a series of thefts in September. Unsealed court documents in federal court in Baltimore show that agents seized boxes of Nike Air Jordan shoes and cleats, sunglasses, three dozen baseball gloves, 11 baseball bats, cameras and computer equipment from the house in Dunkirk.

Heroin Smuggled Into US Inside Buttons. Federal authorities said drug dealers found a novel way to try to smuggle heroin through BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport — inside large buttons sewn onto dresses.Court documents show U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents intercepted a package containing eight dresses last week when it arrived at a DHL hub in Cincinnati, Ohio, from the Philippines. It was headed toward an address on Lauretta Avenue in west Baltimore.Inside the buttons, authorities found 650 grams of a tan, powdery substance wrapped in plastic that turned out to be $50,000 worth of heroin.

Falcons Beat Ravens In Final Minute. If this was a Super Bowl preview, that’s going to be quite a game in Big D. Roddy White hauled in a 33-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan with 20 seconds remaining and the Atlanta Falcons, after squandering a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter, rallied to beat the Baltimore Ravens 26-21 on Thursday in a prime-time matchup between two of the NFL’s top teams.

Surveillance Pics Released In GameStop Robbery.  Harford County authorities hope surveillance photos can help them solve a robbery at a GameStop store.Two robbers took more than 100 copies of a video game during a Saturday incident. The game, “Call of Duty: Black Ops,” had not been officially released at the time of the robbery. The robbers had semiautomatic weapons and ordered workers into a storage room.GameStop is located at the Festival at Bel Air Shopping Center.The holdup was similar to one last month at a game store in Aberdeen, according to investigators.
