Feeding Your Future

From the Anne Arundel County Public Schools:

Anne Arundel County Public Schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, BankAnnapolis, and several other community partners are teaming up to host “Feeding Your Future,” a Kids At Hope – Annapolis event set for next week that is designed to allow children ages 5 to 13 to explore a variety of opportunities to build successful futures.

The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, located at 123 South Villa Avenue in Annapolis. The event will allow children to think and talk about their own futures, especially in the areas of home and family, community and service, education and career, and hobbies and recreation. There will be demonstrations, food, and lots of prizes.

Kids at Hope is a belief system in place across the nation where schools and communities emphasize and demonstrate that “all children are capable of success, NO exceptions.” Anne Arundel County Public Schools has joined with other organizations and agencies to promote Kids at Hope throughout Anne Arundel County, with the first schoolwide implementation coming at Annapolis Middle School.

In addition to BankAnnapolis and the Boys and Girls Clubs, other Kids at Hope community partners include the Anne Arundel County Community Action Partnership, the Annapolis Youth Services Bureau, the City of Annapolis, the Chesapeake Children’s Museum, Light of the World Family Ministries, and Restoration Community Development Corporation.

Students and parents are encouraged to register before Tuesday’s event, but all are welcome to attend to learn more about Kids at Hope, and enjoy the fun-filled celebration. For more information, please contact Lisa Keough, Annapolis Middle School Social Worker, at 410-267-8658, or Magdalene Garcia, Annapolis Area Program Director, Boys and Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County, at 410-263-2542, ext. 104.
