i pray for the young mans full recovery, they ought to try those two attackers as adults.

  2. John Frenaye says:

AS of now, they are being tried as juveniles. And I really knew what criteria is used to determine that.

Korvin and Stryker (tossed rocks at pedestrians, no one was hurt this bad) charged as adults, switched to juvenile, back to adult, and now back to juvenile. Both are 17.

Reid, 17 charged with attempted rape and other sex crimes is charged as an adult.

These two are charged as juvenile.

Football player from North County charged as adult.

    Makes no sense

  3. Maria Poulos says:

I truly believe the two attackers should be suspended from the school and not allowed back. They should be charged as adults. I pray for the young boy’s full recovery.

  4. Patrice Kotsakis says:

we have been shocked to hear about this tragic beating. We are praying for this young man’s speedy recovery, and are hopeful that the authorities will punish the boys involved. They should be expelled from school and be held accountable for their actions.

  5. Steve says:

It is my understanding that the boy who got hurt is the one who stole the ipod and initially was hit by one of the individuals once(the boy who had his ipod stolen), as the one individual walked away the boy threw a water bottle hitting another student not involved in the altercation and he is the one who really hurt the boy and put him in the hospital.

  6. John Frenaye says:

@Steve–I am 99.9% sure you are mistaken. The injured boy had his iPOD stolen on Tuesday by assailant #1. On Wednesday, he confronted assailant #1 who is NOT on the football team to get his iPod back. Assailant#1 threw the first punch. It was a crowded hallway and other kids gathered around as he continued to hit the boy. At some point, a water bottle was thrown by a third party and it hit Assailant #2 (who is on the football team) who thought the boy had thrown it. He jumped into the fight and in the scuffle, he ended up hitting a girl who was not seriously injured. For some reason, the act of him hitting this girl kept him in custody at Cheltenham Juvenile Facility while assailant #1 was released. If I had to guess, he was held because the girl was not involved in the “fight” as the schools are deeming it.

  7. Michael Willis says:

Incredible. Simply incredible that the schools have now started calling this a “fight”. A fight implies that both parties were equally culpable in any damage. That would leave the school off the hook, eh?

The next thing you know, the kid who got brutalized will be needing a lawyer to defend himself from his own expulsion hearing. The spin has begun.

  8. Patrice Kotsakis says:

We are relatives of the boy’s family and I am writing from Massachusetts. John is correct in saying that the injured boy had his ipod stolen, and was simply trying to get the ipod back.

It is upsetting to read rumors that he initiated this fight, and stole anything.

Thank you John for stating the true facts.
