Trial Of Glen Burnie Man For Frostburg Slaying Wraps Up.  The first-degree murder trial of a former Frostburg State University student will soon go to the jury. Closing arguments in the trial of Tyrone Hall, 21, of Glen Burnie, ended Thursday afternoon, and the Allegany County jury will begin deliberating Friday. Hall testified that he was scared out of his mind when he fired his shotgun in self-defense at two student athletes who had come to his apartment looking for a fight.He testified that he fatally shot basketball player Brandon Carroll, of Waldorf, and wounded teammate Ellis Hartridge, of Washington, because they lunged at him during a confrontation over a woman.

Scam Targets Homeowners For Property Taxes.  Baltimore County police said a new scam is targeting seniors and other homeowners, claiming their annual property taxes are unpaid.Police said several seniors have reported calls in which the caller has said their annual property taxes are unpaid and delinquent, and they have to be mailed to the caller immediately.In at least one case, the senior was asked for banking information over the phone, police said.Homeowners are being advised to never give out their personal banking information over the phone and never mail currency or checks to people or businesses they don’t know.

Clinton Rallies For O’Malley In Baltimore.  Former President Bill Clinton urged voters Thursday during a rally in Baltimore to support Gov. Martin O’Malley‘s re-election bid.O’Malley is currently in a tightening race with former Republican Gov. Bob Ehrlich.”Why in the world would anyone think about making a change, never mind what the comparison is,” Clinton told those who gathered. Clinton, who is known for his star power in the Democratic Party, took the stage in Federal Hill Park at about 5:30 p.m. and spoke to the crowd for about 40 minutes.

Health care data newly available online comprises part of a larger initiative aimed at saving lives.The Maryland Health Care Commission is tracking occurrences of a certain type of bloodstream infection at Maryland hospitals.Central Line-Associated Blood Stream Infections can occur when bacteria travels through a catheter used to administer medications or obtain blood samples for testing and enters the bloodstream. The preventable infection can be fatal.
