Ravens Take Down Broncos, Improve to 4-1. Ray Rice ran for 133 yards and two touchdowns, and the Ravens frustrated Denver quarterback Kyle Orton in a 31-17 victory Sunday.Baltimore (4-1) jumped to a 17-0 lead and coasted to its third straight win, the first this season by double digits. The Ravens moved past idle Pittsburgh into sole possession of first place in the AFC North.  The Broncos (2-3) fell to 0-5 against the Ravens in Baltimore. In those games, Denver has been outscored 142-56, including 60-24 over the last two years.

Severn Shooting Injures Glen Burnie ManA Glen Burnie man is wounded after being shot in Severn Sunday morning, police said.The Baltimore City Police Department said it received a report that a shooting occurred at about 1:16 a.m. in the 7800 Block of Citadel Court.Responding Western District patrol officers said they found a man with a gunshot wound in his upper body. The victim was taken to Shock Trauma, where he was listed in serious condition.

Woman Charged With Horse Abuse. The owner of several horses left to die from starvation or dehydration is facing criminal animal abuse charges.Eight horses from what was supposed to be a rescue farm in Martinsburg, W.Va., were brought to the Days End Farm Horse Rescue in Howard County in mid-September after they were found to be starving and close to death.Mary O’Brien, the woman who ran the horse rescue farm in West Virginia, is currently in jail on more than 50 counts of animal cruelty charges.

Two Injured In Stabbing At Timonium Fairground. Baltimore County Police are investigating two stabbings at the Timonium Fairgrounds.Officers said the attack happened just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday during a fight at the Oktoberfest celebration in the Cow Palace building.Both victims were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
