High School Marching Bands Gearing Up

More than 600 musicians from the county’s 12 public high schools will exhibit their skills in a showcase event at 7:00 p.m. on  Thursday, October 14, at Arundel High School.

Each school’s marching band and color guard will perform for 15 minutes. Annapolis High School will be the first band to perform, and Arundel’s unit will wrap things up with a performance scheduled to begin at 9:55 p.m.

“This is a great chance for people across the county – whether they have children in our schools or not – to come out and hear hundreds of very talented musicians,” said Amy Cohn, coordinator of music for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. “These talented students work hard on the field and in the classroom. This work adds to their success in all areas and subjects.”

Admission to the event is $3.00. Parking is limited, so those attending the event are encouraged to arrive early.
