Construction Worker Killed At Waugh Chapel Elementary

| October 15, 2010, 09:59 AM | 2 Comments

Yesterday afternoon, police and fire responded for an industrial accident on a construction site at Waugh Chapel Elementary School located at 840 Sunflower Drive in Gambrills.

A new wing of the school was under construction when the roof collapsed trapping a 48-year-old male construction worker.  The victim, David Kevin Gragan of La Plata, was freed by the fire department’s collapse team but died en route to the hospital.

The police conducted a preliminary investigation and found no obvious signs of foul play.  The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Agency responded and is investigating the accident.

Gragan was employed by Classic Iron Works Inc. out of Mechanicsville, MD.
