From Anne Arundel County Police:

On August 13, 2010, at approximately 12:30 a.m., officers from the Northern District responded to the 100 block of W. Edgevale Road in Brooklyn Park for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim inside of his vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was subsequently transported via ambulance to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:30 a.m. Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Department’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene to assume responsibility for the investigation.

Detectives conducted witness interviews and collected evidence from the scene. Through the investigation, detectives determined that the victim, Eric Javonn Hill, 30, of the 200 block of W. Edgevale Road in Brooklyn Park, drove to an address in the 100 block of W. Edgevale Road. A known adult male acquaintance was entering the victim’s vehicle when three male subjects approached the vehicle. For unknown reasons, the vehicle accelerated at which time the armed suspect shot the driver. The victim’s vehicle traveled a short distance and struck a parked vehicle. All three suspects then fled on foot northbound on W. Edgevale Road towards Old Riverside Road. The suspects are being described as three black males in their teens wearing dark sweatshirts. The armed suspect is being described as approximately 5’3” with a thin build.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim and suspects were possibly known to each other and the victim may have been targeted by the suspects in this incident.
