Fire Ravages Anne Arundel County Bagel Shop. Anne Arundel County fire officials said a Severna Park bagel shop suffered significant damage and that a firefighter was hurt in an overnight fire.The fire broke out at about 1 a.m. Sunday at Einstein’s Bagels in the 500 block of Ritchie Highway, firefighters said.When crews arrived at the scene, they said they encountered a heavy volume of fire coming from the business, which was closed at the time.One firefighter received a minor injury to the face and was taken to a hospital, paramedics said.

2 Die In Queen Anne’s County Crash.  Maryland State Police said two people were killed in a crash in Queen Anne’s County.Troopers said the crash happened at about 8 a.m. Sunday on Route 8 near Great Neck Road on Kent Island south of the town of Stevensville.Police said the crash involved two vehicles. Paramedics said the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene.Investigators have not released the identities of the victims, but they did say three other people were airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.The crash closed Route 8 for several hours to allow the State Police Crash Team to investigate.

Martin O’Malley’s latest political TV advertisements.WBAL-TV 11’s David Collins put O’Malley’s claims to the test.One claim in the latest ad states that “Gov. O’Malley and the bio tech investment tax credit is a big reason BioMarker Strategies is one of America’s top 20 startup companies.”Collins said that claim is true. BioMarker Strategies, a tissue-based cancer diagnostics company, ranks 14th in the nation in top start-up companies.
