Yet Another Pedestrian Killed

On June 3, two pedestrians were killed with hours of each other.  This weekend, Anne Arundel County added another pedestrian fatality to its count.

An unidentified pedestrian who was crossing in a marked crosswalk was struck and killed by a car Saturday night in Ferndale.

The accident occurred while he  was crossing Route 648 at the intersection of Ferndale Road just before 10pm.  The victim was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma and was pronounced dead approximately two hours later.

The initial investigation indicates the driver did not yield the right of way; however police are also looking into the possibility of a malfunctioning pedestrian signal. So far, no charges have been filed against the driver.
