Two Pedestrian Fatalities In County

Two Deaths In Less Than 6 Hours

The Baltimore Sun is reporting the deaths of two pedestrians in Anne Arundel County in a span of 6 hours.

Glen Burnie

The first incident was in Glen Burnie in front of the County District Court on Ritchie Highway.  Joshua Paul Reitz of Pasadena was pronounced dead at the scene at about 9 p.m.

Preliminary investigations indicate he was trying to cross the busy Ritchie Highway when he was hit by a car operated by Clifford Smith of Glen Burnie.

Arnold

In the second incident, Ghassen A. Sabra, a construction worker from North Carolina was struck by several vehicles on Eastbound Route 50 near Bay Dale Drive.  Investigators say that he was in the left lane with a reflective vest retrieving or placing traffic counting equipment when he was struck by one or more vehicles and thrown into the right lane where he was run over by a tractor trailer operated by Ricky Beasley, also of North Carolina.
