Support A Cop

| June 10, 2010, 11:42 AM | 1 Comment

Every citizen and visitor of the City of Annapolis has seen the Annapolis Police Department’s bike patrol officers making their way through the streets while patrolling up close and personal. In these economic times, even our super heroes can use a hand. Time and daily wear and tear causes the equipment and tools our bike patrol uses to wear out and fail.

Two fantastic local businesses, Capital Bicycle and Stan and Joe’s Saloon are joining forces in an effort to raise $10,000 to purchase new equipment for APD’s bike patrol. The two businesses will be sponsoring a fundraiser on Saturday, June 12th from 2pm to 8pm. Come on down to Stan and Joe’s located at 37 West Street and help support a cop!

This private effort is the business community’s way of giving back to those who give so much. Please join us and show your support. There will be live music and activities including a dunking booth featuring local celebrities and dignitaries, silent auction, food and much more. Don’t forget to bring a can of food to help out the Lighthouse Shelter.

Donations from local businesses are needed for the silent auction and to raise funds. Please contact Tracy McGovern from Stan And Joe’s at 410 279 0070 or 410 263 1993. Contributors may make a general donation or buy a specific piece of equipment. For further information contact Parker Jones at Capital Bicycle at 410-980-8110.
