Crews Battle 2 Alarm Fire At BGE Substation.  Crews battled a two-alarm fire Tuesday at a BGE substation in Anne Arundel County.  The fire broke out shortly after 10:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of Waugh Chapel Road. Officials said no injuries were reported.  BGE spokeswoman Linda Foy said the substation had been out of service, so the fire didn’t affect electricity customers in the area.

Lawmakers Receive Environmental Scorecards.  Several elected officials across the state got report cards Tuesday detailing how they voted on environmental matters. In 1979, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters decided to give state legislators a score card. On Tuesday, children helped hand them out. “We find, generally, that the House has a greater conservation majority. That means there’s more delegates who are voting for the environment than the senators, and what that means is that we often see that in the Senate, we have trouble getting (bills) passed,” said Cindy Schwartz of the MLCV.
