Party On The Plaza

Saturday Event To Benefit Providence Center

Mark your calendar for this coming weekend, Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. for Party on the Plaza, hosted by Grump’s Cafe in Hillsmere.

Party on the Plaza, which will take place rain or shine at the Bay Ridge Plaza, will benefit Providence Center’s campaign to renovate its Jean Bradbury Building and enhance service to hundreds of men and women with developmental disabilities in Anne Arundel County.

Duncan Bradbury, owner of Grump’s Café, is Jean Bradbury’s son. He and his sister, Barbara Bradbury Brashears, are sponsoring this fundraiser. There will be delicious food and live music, face painting, raffles, and an auction which offers something for everyone including a family kayaking adventure, original art by local artists, and cruises aboard the Harbor Queen!

The funds are being raised for the much needed renovation of the Providence Center’s Jean Bradbury Building in Arnold, named after their mother, for her long commitment to helping those with disabilities reach their fullest potential. When constructed in 1971, this 25,000 sq. ft. building was state-of-the-art in design. Now – 39 years later – it is worn out and outmoded. The renovation is critical to better serve the men and women who use this facility today and for years to come.
